Directions for Posting Grades on the Website using "Making the Grade" (MTG)

  1. Place all of your gradebook files into one folder. Inside this folder create a folder entitled Webgrades-your_last-name_space_first-initial (or first name). In most cases you will want to use your last name followed by your first initial. (So Mr. Jonn Doe would create a folder named “Webgrades-Doe J” or “Webgrades-Doe John”.)
  2. Next, make sure you have entered student ID numbers. First go to Edit > Setup Info > CLASS information > Student Numbers.
  3. Make sure that "Your Own Numbers" is selected.
  4. Then go to Edit > Setup Info > STUDENT information.
  5. Enter Student ID numbers if they are missing. (These are the same numbers on your attendance scan sheets.) And then press Done.
  6. Open each of your grade book files and complete directions 2 through 5 before going to direction 7.

  7. Open your first gradebook and go to File > Export student data > The WEB ePublisher: GROUPED home page documents.
  8. Choose Do Not Use PINs and then press Next.
  9. Choose your Progress report setting and press Next.
  10. For Student Group choose EVERY student in this class and press Next.
  11. On the next screen be sure to include the Percentage and grade equivalent FOR THE ENTIRE TERM and then press Next.

  12. If you wish to give contact information include it on this next screen. Remove the words “and PIN” from the paragraph below and then press Next.
  13. Choose Next on the LINE LIBRARY COMMENTS screen.
  14. Press Add All Classes in Folder and press Next.

  15. Locate and select your webgrades folder and press Save.

  16. After pressing yes on the next warning screen it may take MTG several minutes to create the files. When finished, quit MTG and save changes.

  17. To upload your grades, you must be logged in to your teacher webpage on the school website on any computer on campus or at home.
  18. On the left side of the screen in your teacher page you will see a folder named "File Manager".  Click on it.                                                                                                                                                                                                             
  19. On the bottom right side of the page, you will now see a window labeled "File Upload" .  Click on the "Upload Multiple Files" link.  
  20.  If you get a Microsoft Internet Explorer Security Warning, click "OK"                            
  21. You will now see a large window, labeled "Feel free to drag and drop files into this area!    
  22. Drag you "Webgrades folder into this area
  23. Click on "Upload"
  24. When your files are uploaded, click on the "I'm done uploading! Show my Files".  link to see your uploaded files.
  25. Log out of your teacher page on the website and visit the website as a general user to see your grades posted.
