The University Scholars program offers an opportunity for students to prepare for admissions to the most prestigious universities and colleges.

A University Scholar student on a fast track program...
  • will participate in an academically challenging program to meet the entrance requirements for the University of California programs.
  • will participate in activities related to the college selection and admission process.

Higher Learning With High Technology

Cabrillo High School's University Scholars program prepares students to become competitively eligible for a U.C., C.S.U., or private university of their choice.


Who Is Eligible?
  • Incoming 9th grade students who have maintained a competitive GPA
  • Students who are ready to take Geometry in their freshmen year
  • Students who come highly recommended from their Middle School teachers
  • Students who have an impressive citizenship and attendance record
  • Positive students with a strong desire to learn and excel at a faster learning pace
University Visits:
  • The University Scholars of Cabrillo High School will have more than enough required courses to attend the University of their choice.
  • It is the program's intent to insure that the scholars have been exposed to several university visits before their graduation.
  • The University Scholars of Cabrillo will visit Universities regularly. This allows each student to see what makes each school unique from the other.

  • Rigorous, academically challenging four year program which is designed to prepare students for the colleges while equipping them with the skills and tools to function in a fast changing, technologically advanced society
