Art & Animation 3-4

This class enhances techniques learned in Art and Animation 1-2 and Digital Art. Students plan sophisticated animations including sound track and sound effects. Students are exposed to real world applications of computer animation.

Skills and Approach

  • Identify the structural components used in planning an animated project
  • Execute scripts, diagrams, storyboards, and maps in creating animated computer-based projects
  • Master advanced animation authoring software by creating their own animations
  • Draw/design their own frame by frame sequences by hand and transfer and edit them in the computer
  • Become proficient at generating graphic images for use in animation. Both hand-drawn and computer-drawn images will be manipulated and painted in computer programs
  • Understand how computer animation is an indispensable tool that changes the way we will approach the future and how it affects the way we understand the present
  • Effectively work with others in a multi-step process of planning, executing and critiquing multimedia animated prefects
  • Compile professional quality portfolios of drawings, designs, and animations generated with and without the computer
